GRAMMAR
1/ The simple present tense( Thì hiện tại đơn )
* to be : I am ( am not ) / he , she , it ... is ( isn’t) / we ,you , they ... are (aren’t )
Am / Is / Are + S ..... ?
Ex: She ( not be ) .................................... a teacher . ( isn’t
Your parents ( be ) ........................... in the living room ? ( Are your parents in the ........ ?
* Ordinary verb:
(+) S1 (I / We / they / you…) + V
S2 ( He / She / It….) + V (s/es) ( does,goes,washes,brushes,watches ,finishes, studies, has... )
(-) S + don’t / doesn’t + V
(?) (wh -) Do / does + S + V ?
( Yes, S + do/ does. / No, S + don’t/ doesn’t.
Ex: Hoa ( watch ) ................................. TV after school . ( watches
I ( not play ) ................................... computer games. ( don’t play
Tuan ( do ) .................................... his homework in the evening ? ( Does Tuan do his .... ?
Thì hiện tại đơn dùng để diễn tả :
- Thói quen hoặc hành động lặp đi lặp lại ở hiện tại . Công việc thường ngày .
Ex:I get up early every morning. / She always shelps her mother after sch
- Nhận thức, cảm giác hoặc tình trạng ở hiện tại
Ex : Do you see that man over there ? / My mother works in the post office .
- Chân lý, sự thật hiển nhiên
Ex : Ha Noi is larger than Hue / The sun rises in the East and sets in the West .
- Dùng với : always, usually, sometimes, often, every, never, every day/week/month, once /twice/three times... a week / month / year ……
2/ The present progressive tense ( Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn )
(+) S + is / am / are + V- ING.
(-) S + is / am / are + V- ING.
(?) S + is / am / are + V- ING ?
( Yes, S + am / is / are / No, S + am/ is/ are not
Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn được sử dụng để diễn tả một hành động đang diễn ra ngay lúc nói.
Ex: I am learning English now.
Dùng với : now, at the moment, at present, right now, Look ! Listen ! ...
Một số động từ không dùng với thì này : see,hear,understand,know,like,want,feel,love,hate,remember,forget...
3/The simple future tense ( Thì tương lai đơn ):
(+) S + Will + V
(-) S + Will not (won’t) + V
(?) Will + S + V ?
( Yes, S + will / No, S + won’t
- Tương lai đơn dùng để chỉ hành động hay sự việc xảy ra trong tương lai
Eg: I will finish my task soon.
He will call you tomorrow.
- Dùng với : tomorrow , next , soon , some day ....
4/ Một số dạng động từ :
* like , love , dislike , hate , ẹnjoy , practice , finish ... + Ving
* interested in , good at , what / how about ... + Ving
* want , need , would like/love , learn .... + to V
* should / shouldn’t, can / can’’t , let’s , must , help ( someone) ... + V
Ex: I like playing chess . / He’s good at drawing. / We want to be doctors
5/Prepositions ( giới từ ):
- in + tên tỉnh/thành phố/ nước (in Binh Dương/ In Viet nam)
+ tháng/ năm (in May/ in 2011)
+ in the morning/ afternoon/ evening
+ in the middle of: ở giữa
- on + tên đường phố (on Trân Hung Dao street)
+ on the first/ second floor: ở tầng thứ nhất/ hai…
+ on the right/ left
+ thứ ngày ( on Monday / On May 12th )
- at + số nhà (at 123 Tran Hung Dao Street)
+ at the back of
- near , next to , opposite , between ...and , from ...to / till , behind
6/Câu cảm thán (an exclamatory sentence):
* What a/an + adj. + singular noun!
- What an expensive dress!
